Cambridge Open College treats everybody fairly and even-handedly. We ensure that there are no features that could disadvantage any groups of learners that share a particular characteristic or barriers to entry other than those directly related to the purpose of our courses, units, or qualifications.

Where Cambridge Open College has identified such a feature it will remove the unjustifiable disadvantage or barrier. Where we have identified such a feature and believe the disadvantage or barrier to be justifiable, a record will be maintained. The record will set out the reasons why we feel the disadvantage or barrier is justifiable for the particular course, unit, or qualification.

Cambridge Open College enables learners to have equal access to training and assessment for qualifications irrespective of their sex, marital status, age, religion, colour, race, nationality or ethnic origin or disability. Assessments are similarly undertaken without discrimination. We have a policy in place to ensure that such discrimination does not occur directly, indirectly, or as a result of pressure from other organisations or awarding bodies.

This policy applies to all satellite and/or associated venues, and there are arrangements in place to monitor its application and effectiveness. Cambridge Open College is committed to complying with all current and relevant legislation, which at the time of writing includes, but is not limited to, the Equality Act 2010 and Northern Ireland Equality Law.
