Cambridge Open College has been providing distance learning, home study, open learning and correspondence courses since 2006.

Our founders bring more than 25 years of combined expertise in education generally, and distance learning in particular. Few distance-learning establishments have more experience at a “hands on” level — we’ve all been tutors and assessors in this sector for many years, and it shapes how every course is built.

Heavy investment in state-of-the-art technology has typified the college’s development, particularly in its more recent history. Our systems are built to make your learning experience as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible, whatever hours you keep.

The college provides more than 120 courses across five faculties, successful completion of which results in nationally recognised qualifications listed on the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF), or certification for specialist bespoke qualifications. Most are endorsed or accredited by some of the UK’s most established awarding organisations.

Our students come from all walks of life, and study with us for a wide range of reasons — career progression, continuing professional development, or simply learning for the enjoyment of a subject they care about.
