ENDORSED QUALIFICATION AT LEVEL 4
Commonly referred to as “talking therapies”, the skills of counselling and psychotherapy are fascinating to learn about and understand. They can truly make the difference between life and death for an individual affected by the so-called “pressures” (stresses and strains) of life when properly used.
Concerns about money and finances, pending unemployment or redundancy, strained personal relationships, and many more real-life situations can badly affect some people. They experience anxiety, weight loss, low self-esteem and loss of confidence, irritability, binge eating or drinking…
These everyday issues are simply taken in the stride of mentally robust individuals, and are rarely given a second thought. For those who are affected, however, they often give rise to serious health issues, including those listed above.
Those not affected find great difficulty in understanding “what all the fuss is about”. Often, counselling helps to bridge that gap, particularly when it involves people from both sides of that equation – life partners, employees and employers, teachers and students are good examples.
Learn about the issues and problems, and how to perhaps become part of the solution. Therapists and counsellors, along with many other areas of the health professions, are in desperately short supply. As well as being hugely fulfilling, learning these skills could also unlock an opportunity for a new career.
