ENDORSED QUALIFICATION AT LEVEL 3
Security management has become an increasingly important issue in the effective running of modern organisations. Whether you’re already involved in management or interested in having a career in the field, this course will give you the edge you need to perform successfully in a management role.
Endorsed Qualification through the Focus Awards Focus on Quality Provision (FQP) Scheme, this course focuses on the knowledge and techniques you will need to become competent in security management. Without security, businesses cannot operate with any degree of certainty; they must be responsible for their assets in order to foster a productive work environment. This course will explore these concepts.
Our security management course has been specifically designed to prepare students for employability within security management. In order to achieve this, we have developed an exciting and diverse study programme, which can be accessed via the ‘Modules’ tab above.
The course consists of 12 units each aimed at a particular area relevant to security management. As part of the course, students will become knowledgeable in security processes and the various systems used in the practice. They will also gain an understanding into the organisation, planning, and management of security measures, including insights into Decision Making and Budgeting.
A large section of the course focuses on specific threats to security, varying from Burglaries and Theft to Child Abuse and Rape. This gives students an insight into the potential dangers they may encounter in a professional environment, and most importantly, how to avoid them. Overall, the course teaches students how to design, develop and implement effective security policies. You will learn how to secure and account for company assets, how to protect people and premises, and how to prevent loss.
This course is open to all applicants. It is ideal for candidates from both management and security backgrounds, or for individuals simply interested in learning more about security from a business perspective.
No previous experience or qualifications are required, though we do expect students to have a reasonable standard of general education in order to keep up with the academic demands of the course.
