Course Overview

“You Are What You Eat”. Scary?

It’s a bit of a cliché these days, but unfortunately, it’s also 100% true. The problem for most of us is that we would prefer to treat it as a cliché – everything we love is somehow “bad” for us.

However, there is some good news. This fantastic new course has been specially written to help us make healthy choices about what we eat without taking all the fun out of our lives. It does this by giving us the knowledge to manage our diet proactively so that we make conscious choices about what we put inside what Buddhists call “The Body Temple”, rather than just blindly dumping all the wrong “stuff” into our mouths.

The issue with diet is not simply that we must cut out all sugars, fats, and processed foods. We also need to make sure we get the right vitamins and minerals, in the right combination and quantity. This ensures the incredible machine we use all day every day remains healthy and serviceable without requiring major maintenance or refit.  It’s more than a “meat suit”, despite the way we treat it.

If we get our diet right, we can still have chocolate, alcohol, and a curry from time to time without setting ourselves up for a stroke, heart attack or major disease. It’s all about balance, and this course will help you achieve that.

Brian Tracy, the great business brain, and motivational speaker from the United States has it all “down”. Although very simplistic, he uses two guiding principles to maintain his health and fitness.

The first is his famous “dietary balance in just five words” – “Eat Less, and Exercise More”. His second principle is similarly simple: cut out the three “white poisons”. Take salt, sugar, and white flour out of your diet to instantly both lose weight and improve your overall health.

By the way, you can have those two guiding principles for free as a gift – if you do nothing else you will see incredible positive results, courtesy of Cambridge Open College. Of course, we’d love you to buy the course too…

This Level 3 course will help you make sensible and informed choices about all aspects of your diet and nutrition. It explores most dietary options, including vegetarianism, and delivers all the information you need to design your own healthy diet and lifestyle or advise others.
